Synthesis and evaluation of a peptide-functionalised nanocarrier for enhanced brain targeting and treatment of inflammation in Alzheimer’s disease
I develop peptide-functionalised liposomes that improve drug delivery across the blood–brain barrier and reduce neuroinflammation in Alzheimer's disease. The work involves fabricating and characterising these liposomes and building an in vitro model that reproduces the physiological conditions of the human brain. I then evaluate the delivery system on that barrier model before assessing it in a relevant Alzheimer's model.
