Development and characterisation of hydrogel-based models for pancreatic cancer
My PhD develops 3D hydrogel-based models that reproduce the physical properties of pancreatic tumour tissue, with a particular focus on matching tissue stiffness. These capture the tumour microenvironment far better than conventional 2D cell culture, giving a more physiologically relevant platform for studying pancreatic cancer. The aim is a preclinical model that narrows the gap between simplified laboratory studies and the complexity of real tumours.
